When Shane Van Gisbergen’s Car #97 crossed the line ahead of all challengers in the 2022 Bathurst 1000, not only was it yet another gem of an achievement in the dominant Kiwi’s glittering crown, but it meant that Triple Eight Race Engineering had conquered The Mountain for a scarcely believable ninth time. Levelling the Holden Dealer Team on nine wins, Triple Eight opened their Bathurst account with a stunning three-peat from 2006 to 2008, whilst the next decade saw former co-driving champions Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes each add to the organisation’s honour roll. Then came the Van Giz Era, with his 2022 victory underlining a period of dominance on the track perhaps unmatched by any driver in history. And while Triple Eight have just equalled Brock and HDT’s record, it would be unlikely to suggest their dominance of Australia’s biggest race is going to end anytime soon.

When Jamie Whincup’s Car #88 crossed the line ahead of all challengers in the 2022 Bathurst 1000, not only was it yet another gem of an achievement in Supercars’ most prolific winner in history, but it meant that Triple Eight Race Engineering had conquered The Mountain for a scarcely believable ninth time. Levelling the Holden Dealer Team on nine wins, Triple Eight opened their Bathurst account with a stunning three-peat from 2006 to 2008, whilst the next decade saw former co-driving champions Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes each add to the organisation’s honour roll and, later the dominant Shane Van Gisbergen made the peak of the podium his own. Having retired from full time driving, Whincup’s stunning effort proved that class is permanent, and while Triple Eight have just equalled Brock and HDT’s record, it would be unlikely to suggest their dominance of Australia’s biggest race is going to end anytime soon.
